The artist
David Charles
Williams
David Charles Williams is an artist and creative thinker working across painting, digital art, sound, experimental music and imagined future worlds. His practice is driven by curiosity: how images, systems and sound can change the way we feel, think and connect.
He treats the website itself as an artwork — a living space where visual culture, technology and personal history meet.

Recovery and return
Creating after
spinal injury
After a C6 incomplete spinal injury, David’s relationship with making changed. Limited movement, dyslexia and the practical difficulties of returning to a traditional studio required new tools, new rhythms and a new kind of independence.
Digital work and sound became ways to continue — not as substitutes for painting, but as an expansion of the same creative life.

Digital and analogue
Between the hand
and the machine
David is interested in the division between analogue experience and digital systems: the hand-drawn line beside the generated form, the physical memory of paint beside code, motion and artificial intelligence.
The work asks whether technology can remain human, poetic and imperfect — and whether the machine can become a genuine creative collaborator.

Sound and human experience
Listening as
a visual artist
Sound has become central to David’s practice. He creates electronic music, ambient experiments and imagined audio environments, exploring the effect that rhythm, texture and vibration can have on the body and mind.
For him, sound is not separate from visual art. It is another form of space, colour, movement and recovery.

What I stand for
Art is a force
for good
David believes creativity should build possibility rather than noise. The work is about resilience, imagination, equality, human connection and the responsibility to use technology with purpose.
He is developing ideas, images, music and stories that invite people to think differently — with optimism, intelligence and a belief that good ideas can still shape the world.
